Jacque, the owner of WOOF doggie daycare in San Ramon, came to the studio with her furry friends... Astro, Joe, Goldie and Daisy... What a fun time we had!




Astro - Large, yes. In charge, not so sure... this big guy is just wants to do good and be loved!



Goldie - Sweet, Sweet Goldie....
Joe - Not so impressed with the bright lights and big cameras, eh... still looks cute!

Daisy - 9 month old Daisy is a snuggable mellow little gal!

Speaking for Spot

I receive Dr. Kay's email newsletters and today's information I feel compelled to share. We've all been there, at the vet with our beloved furry friend, hearing the astronomical cost it will take to make them better. It can feel so unfair if funds are low. Dr. Kay has a listing, on her Speaking for Spot web site, of organizations that are available to help. She says "Many of these organizations help only in emergency situations such as accidental injuries requiring immediate care, long term health problems requiring surgery or ongoing treatment, such as orthopedic repairs or chemotherapy for animals with cancer. Some can also provide pet food and other assistance to seniors and people with serious illness or disability."

I must highly recommend Dr. Nancy Kay's book "Speaking for Spot" to all the dog lovers out there. And not because a photo of mine appears in it. Nope, because it is a book full of helpful resources and valuable information.

It's LIVE! It's LIVE!...

I feel like "Tattoo" in the show Fantasy Island "the plane, the plane!". I'm just so excited!...

I've been working very hard on getting this new web site up and running. You know how technology can be! Things that should be easy, are not. And things that should take a week, take a whole month. Ah, but it's done, it's launched. Now, of course, I have a long list of tweeks and improvements and additions, but that is another story. For now, I'm pleased to present....

Cha Cha

Cute little Cha Cha made it into the studio for a fun filled session. At first she was a little shy, then her 'mom' got out the t.r.e.a.t.s and she did a little dance for us! Even her handsome friend Rio stepped in for a portrait. These buddies both found their happy forever homes through the Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation! Yeah!

I'm working hard on a new web site! Very excited! Hoping to launch by February.

The Mobile Upload...

In the past year or so I have been longing to reunite with some of my film cameras... not the beloved Mamiya RZ or even the Nikon F4... I've longed for the happy accidents and unexpected loveliness of my Toy Camera collection... The Holga, The Diana, my Graphlex Speed Graphic, the Yashica, the Voigtlander, Lubitel, Lomo or even the ...good old fashioned Pinhole!... These cameras are old friends to me. Friends I haven't put film in for years. Not since the emergence of my digital age. I am often asked what my preferred format is; film or digital. Professionally, there are pros and cons to both but digital makes the most sense. For personal projects however, hands down; film. Through the lens of the above mentioned collection my vision becomes inspired. I truly SEE differently. Textures. Patterns. Art.

I recently had the revelation; my iPhone is my new Toy Camera. There is very little control. It is not perfect. I always have it with me. This is where those happy accidents can occur. So I've decided to embrace this new vision.

I have a new friend.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Santa Paws fundraising event for Berkeley East Bay Humane Society at Dog Bone Alley, Alameda this weekend! We had a fantastically fun time donating our photography services and helping to raise money for such a worthy cause!

Fun Fundraising!

I have recently teamed up with Northern California Weimaraner Rescue and created a calendar to raise funds for Weims in need. I have donated my photos so that 100% of the profits of the calendar go to the NCWR!

The NCWR is a non-profit volunteer organization. The calendar is available through the NCWR's online Cafe Press storefront. All proceeds from sales of the online store benefit NCWR! One hundred percent of all donations to NCWR support its effort to find loving forever homes for unwanted Weimaraners. This effort requires funds to cover costs related to veterinary care, spay/neuter procedures, boarding, supplies, administrative overhead, and more.
