Big Love - Dahlia Rose

It's hard to believe that a 110lb Rottweiler Pit Bull mix would be shy, but it's true. Dahlia wants no part of trouble, she is all lovin. I traveled to Laurelwood Park in San Mateo for our photo session. Although Dahlia was a pretty poser, what struck me most about our photo session was the connection she has with her 'mom'. It was so much fun to capture their bond...

Elliot and Mason

Everyone loves a pretty posed picture, especially of pretty posers! But what I love most about a photo session are the other moments... The in between moments, the play, the details... watching for those little things that speak about the essence of a subject.... Yesterday I got to spend some time with two wonderful German Shorthair Pointers. Young boy Mason, approx 7, did run circles around older 'brother' Elliot.... but 14 year old Elliot's sweet spirit was alive and well. And even though it was the hottest day of the year so far, he was loving being in one of his favorite spots!

Izzy and Co.

I first photographed Izzy a couple of years ago so it was a pleasure to see her again, just as adorable as before. This lucky little girl has a house full of critters... and some of them even joined our photo session! Noodles the bunny, Trinity the dog, even Christmas the chicken (!)... but her favorite was Brownie the kitty... Let me see if I remember her full name correctly; "Brownie Cookie Sugarpie".

Sam and Miranda

I thought I knew what to expect. I had been told that 12 year old Sam, the Aussie, has cancer. Had I not been told I would never have known. Admittedly, Sam was not quite as active as his 10 year old Border Collie 'sister', Miranda. But really, who can keep up with a Border Collie!? They played and posed like pros. What I did not know was how many times in the last two weeks Sam's devoted mom thought he would not make it. The day of the photo session Sam's energy was good, his spirits high ... and I hope the photos show how much this sweet and handsome boy enjoys life.
