Bay Area Pet Fair 2011

The Bay Area Pet Fair and Adoptathon (sponsored by Pet Food Express) is back!

This is our favorite fair of the year! Great people, great pets and great cause! Over 400 animals were adopted and, as you probably know, this is a cause that I am passionate about. My two adopted dogs accompanied me to the event. In fact, it was at the 2008 BAPF that we adopted our Chihuahua, Biella, from the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society!

The TPP booth was pleased to be participating. We booked some private sessions and also did single shot sessions at the event. Here are some highlights:

Tony and Rosie

Tony is a 12.5 year old Flat Coat Retriever that came from the SPCA when he was just 6 weeks old. Even if I hadn't heard about Tony's story before, when I arrived it was clear he was a special dog with deep soul. When first contacted about doing a session, this handsome boy's proud mom had written, although recently retired "Tony visited terminally ill children. He had the ability to sense when a child's death was imminent (24 hours or less). After a year of never 'missing', the doctors/nurses began to notify family. There were countless times when parent(s) that were about to 'take a break' (going back home, to work, business trip, etc) but stayed close by when told of Tony's alert. I have dozens and dozens of letters from parents, siblings, nurses, doctors telling me what a gift Tony has and the incredible joy he brought to so many children."

New to the family is Tony's little Corgi sister. Just 6 months old, Rosie can bring a smile to anyone's face with her fun and playful ways!
